Missouri Public Service Commission Sets Intervention Deadline for Liberty CCN Request for Gas Generating Facility in Joplin

(Jefferson City, MO) – The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has set an intervention deadline of November 12, 2025, for a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) from The Empire District Electric Company dba Liberty to build a gas electric generating facility in Joplin, Missouri. (Case number EA-2025-0299)

On October 24, 2025, Liberty filed an application for a CCN to construct a 250-megawatt combustion turbine generator at its State Line Power State. Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission (P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102) or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System.
