The holiday season is right around the corner, and the Joplin Parks and Recreation Department wants to celebrate by inviting the community to join them for their Annual Holiday Tree Trail Competition!

Businesses and nonprofits are invited to join them again for another year of festive fun by helping transform Mercy Park into a winter wonderland of decorated trees. For $25.00, organizations can purchase a prime location on the Tree Trail where they set up their own Christmas tree and use their best creative ideas to transform their spot into a festive showcase. Trees can have a theme, tie to a sponsor’s mission, or just be whatever you want to create!

This is a great way to get into the holiday spirit while also:

  • Boosting Visibility: Get your business or charity seen by hundreds of local families and visitors touring the Trail.
  • Spreading Holiday Cheer: Show your commitment to community involvement and help create a memorable holiday experience.
  • Winning Bragging Rights: Judges will be on the lookout for the most creative entries, awarding First, Second, and Third Prizes! Park guests will also have the opportunity to vote on their favorites.

Each organization will have from November 24 to December 3 to decorate their tree. The kickoff celebration will be on Thursday, December 4 and winners will be announced on January 2, 2026.
