Downtown Joplin Alliance to Host October Third Thursday Event, ‘Harvest Festival’

(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA) and Spire partner for the Harvest Festival during the last Third Thursday of the year on October 16! Come enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with more than one hundred and forty-five vendors, live music, and fun activities.

Third Thursday sponsor, Spire, is once again supporting this year’s Harvest Festival and will have energy-saving tips available. “As an energy provider, it’s important to us that we use our energy to support the communities we serve. We’re excited to support this fun, family-friendly event right in our own backyard,” says Mike Fornelli, Spire Southwest Regional Manager. “And, as we head into cooler weather, it’s the perfect time to start preparing your home to be more energy efficient.”

The evening’s events include:

• Live music from Paul Blakely, Speciosa, Tough Luck Chuck, and Analog Frogs. Andrew Pommert will also be performing in Spiva Park.
• Joplin Family YMCA will have a live Zumba class and once it turns dark, Nikki and her class will take to the streets to perform their annual “Thriller” Flash Mob!
• Visit the Perk Art Cafe (soon to open at 215 Wall Avenue) booth to create your own foam paint print.
• The Schroeder Family Exploreum on the 300 block will have STEAM-filled, spooky science activities that will thrill the whole family. Stop by for a chance to be featured on their Facebook page or even become a Silly STEAM-er!
• Visit Countryside Flowers at 424 S. Joplin Avenue for their Petals & Pages: Fall Edition event, a Whimsy Bookery fall pop-up from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
• Patio and on-street dining throughout the event.
• A vintage car cruise on the 100 block.
• Artisan market on the 500 block.
• Over 160 vendors, including more than 30 food and beverage options.
