Franklin Technology Center (FTC) at Joplin High School accepted a generous donation on September 15 from Missouri American Water Company in support of workforce development.
This $15,000 donation will provide tools and tangible necessities to ensure students graduate with not only Industry Recognized Credentials, but that they also have physical toolkits they can use to get straight to work.
FTC Director Kaci Dorton said her teams are especially thankful for these funds to ensure that nothing stand in the way of students completing their training or starting work.
“With this donation, we can give students hands-on training with the same equipment they’ll see in the workplace,” said Ms. Dorton. “This will remove those financial barriers for our kids, letting them keep their tools after graduation so they’re ready to work right away.”
Thank you to Missouri American Water for making a direct investment in the next generation of skilled workers and helping Joplin Schools offer the community a stronger, more prepared workforce.
