Kansas City University to Hold White Coat Ceremony for College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Class of 2029 on July 24

Kansas City University – Joplin will welcome its newest class of medical students during a White Coat Ceremony on Thursday, July 24 at 5:00 pm inside the Performing Arts Center at Joplin High School.

The White Coat Ceremony marks the official start of medical school for new students as they receive their first white coats and take the Osteopathic Oath, symbolizing their entry into the medical profession and commitment to patient care.

KCU alumnus Nathan Hall, DO, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Hall serves as vice chair of Kansas City University’s Board of Trustees and leads the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center Subspecialty Group in Wichita, Kansas. In this role, he oversees clinical operations, research initiatives and medical education, while also providing direct care to children with blood disorders and a range of oncologic concerns. He is especially passionate about expanding access to subspecialty care for children and families in rural and underserved communities.
