Joplin, MO — April 30, 2025 — Frank Fletcher Subaru, in partnership with Bike Walk Joplin, is proud to announce the donation of a new bike repair and pump station to North Middle School. This generous contribution will support the school’s new afterschool bicycle club and provide much-needed assistance to students who ride their bikes to school.
As part of their ongoing commitment to the Joplin community, Frank Fletcher Subaru worked closely with Bike Walk Joplin, a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe, accessible, and sustainable transportation options. The bike repair and pump station will off er students a convenient place to repair tires, make minor adjustments, and ensure their bikes are in good working order. The station is strategically placed to serve both the new afterschool bicycle club and the many students who use bikes to commute to school.

The bike repair and pump station is not only a valuable resource for students but also serves as an important step forward in encouraging biking as an everyday form of transportation in Joplin. Bike Walk Joplin, which advocates for improved infrastructure, active transportation policies, and community engagement, sees this donation as part of a larger eff ort to make the city more bike and pedestrian-friendly.
“Bike Walk Joplin is thrilled to be a part of this collaboration with Frank Fletcher Subaru and North Middle School,” said Christina Williams, Bike Walk Joplin board member and North Middle School parent and bike bus leader. “For some students, walking or biking is the only way they have to get to school. Others choose to ride simply for fun and exercise. This donation will provide all students who bike with the tools they need to learn to maintain their bikes and keep rolling, whether for recreation or as an independent way to get to school. We hope this encourages even more students to embrace the freedom, fun, and fitness cycling offers.”
The bike repair and pump station will be available to students year-round, ensuring they have the resources to maintain their bikes and keep riding safely. The new afterschool bicycle club and future NICA mountain bike club will also benefit from this donation, giving students the opportunity to learn bike repair and maintenance, build riding skills, learn bike safety, and participate in a fun, healthy activity outside of the classroom.
A ribbon cutting event during Thursday Bicycle Club is planned to celebrate the bike repair station and pump installation. After the ribbon cutting, students will be learning about bike maintenance from a special guest, Mark Cox, owner of Blue’s Bike Company.
