The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) wants to make sure that all area businesses are aware of the latest updates regarding Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).
Following the February 18, 2025 decision by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Smith, et al. v. U.S. Department of the Treasury, et al., BOI reporting requirements are back in effect. However, FinCEN has extended the deadline by 30 days from February 19, 2025, for most reporting companies.
Updated Deadlines:

New Deadline: March 21, 2025, for the majority of reporting companies.

Companies with later deadlines due to disaster relief extensions must follow their original deadlines.
