Announcing the Schroeder Family Exploreum:
The cat is out of the bag! 300 S. Main, Joplin officially has a name. The Shroeder Family Exploreum will be a home for innovation, a center of creativity, a driver of curiosity, and a birthplace for the dream of becoming an engineer, a math teacher, an inventor, an astronaut, an architect, an urban planner, a doctor, a graphic designer… Thanks to the Schroeder family for their lead donation, Kathy Eck for the name, Anne McLaughlin for our gorgeous new logo, and Sign Designs for the banner!
In conjunction with the name announcement, CLA is pleased to announce the public phase of its capital campaign to develop the science center. Donate here.

- August 15, Dog Days of Summer at Third Thursday
- August 24 – Dinosaurs STEAMagination Exploration Lab, 1-2 pm
- September 14 – George Washington Carver Prairie Day, 9 am – 3pm
Volunteers Needed!
Whether you have an hour or a day, whether it’s just your or a group, whether you have special skills in any of the tasks listed below or not, CLA has a space for you to volunteer in!
Current needs include:
- Data entry
- Engaging with families at events
- Painting
- Powerwashing
- Small drywall repair

The Creative Learning Alliance is a hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) based attraction that exercises curiosity, promotes exploration, and develops imagination for people of all ages through interactivity.
