Letters Aloud: Thanks, But No Thanks – The Greatest Rejection Letters Ever!
Sunday, February 4, 2024 | 2:00 pm | Series: Curtains Up | Tickets are $30 to $35, plus fees
Founded by Paul Morgan Stetler, Letters Aloud connects live audiences to famous (and infamous) historical figures through their intimate correspondence while exposing modern audiences to a disappearing form of communication—the written letter. Whether these letters evoke laughter or tears, they beautifully capture individual experiences in history and demonstrate humanity’s remarkable capacity to discover hope, meaning, and joy in the face of adversity. In this new show from Letters Aloud, the road to success is explored through the rejection letters received by famous individuals. Listen as the Letters Aloud actors reveal hard truths delivered to Stephen King, Andy Warhol, Gertrude Stein, Sidney Poitier, and more. But these rejectees don’t let the naysayers get them down. Karma and perseverance combine to hilarious and heartwarming results!
