(Joplin, MO) – Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, is asking all eligible blood donors to give ahead of the holidays during the 29th annual Miracle of Giving Blood Drive. The blood drive will be held on two critical days — December 22 and December 29 — at all CBCO donor centers throughout the region. Successful donors will receive a cozy plaid blanket, a “Miracle of Giving” campfire mug, along with a $10.00 Casey’s gas gift card. During the holiday season, local hospitals often face shortages in blood donations. Michelle Teter, Media Relations Representative at CBCO, emphasizes the importance of donating blood before the holidays. She states, “Taking the time to donate blood can make a significant impact on the well-being of sick or injured patients in area hospitals. The true miracle of the holiday season is found in the gifts we give to others. By donating blood, you are giving the precious gift of life—a gift that extends far beyond the holiday season.” The Miracle of Giving holiday blood drive will be held December 22 and 29 only available at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Donor Centers in Joplin, Springfield, Bentonville, and Springdale. Donation hours for the Miracle of Giving Event are: Joplin – Joplin Donor Center, 101 N. Range Line Rd. 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Springfield – Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Rd. 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Bentonville – Bentonville Donor Center, 1400 SE Walton Blvd. 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Springdale – Springdale Donor Center, 3503 S. Thompson St. 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM All CBCO Donor Centers will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment online here or by calling 417.227.5006. On behalf of local hospital patients, CBCO thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
