Downtown Joplin Alliance to Host July’s Third Thursday Event, ‘Downtown Waterfest’

(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance and Missouri American Water are partnering for Downtown Waterfest during Third Thursday on July 20! Come enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with over one hundred vendors, live music, and water features to help you cool off.

The evening’s events will include:

• Live music from Paul B and Speciosa on the 300 Block Stage and Robin’s Hoods and the Soda Jerks on the 600 Block stage at 6th and Main.
• Visit Missouri American Water on the 400 block! They will have a water truck onsite so you can stay hydrated, have rubber duckies and collapsible dog bowls to give out, and they will also have a seven-foot-tall water spray arch to walk through!
• Join us just prior to the event for a dedication ceremony of the new downtown.gallery installation featuring the Heart Joplin project by Eric Haun at 5:00 pm at 6th and Main.
• The Alliance of Southwest Missouri will have their foam cannons from SudStock!
• Many interactive water features for people and dogs to cool down in, including free splash pads and a water bounce house.
• Patio and on-street dining as well as a beer garden at Chaos Brewing Co.
• A vintage car cruise on the 100 block.
• Artisan market on the 500 block.
• Free COVID-19 vaccines and bivalent booster shots provided by the City of Joplin’s Health Department (available inside of City Hall).
• A selfie photo booth provided by Hip Hip Array.
• Over 100 vendors, including more than 30 food and beverage options.

Lori Haun, executive director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “Summertime is a great time to get outdoors and come to downtown to visit with friends new and old, all while shopping with our great vendors and grabbing food from our terrific food trucks.”
