(Joplin, MO) – This month, the Wildcat Glades Friends Group, along with other partners, will be hosting a hands-on preschool connections program, kids and adult yoga, their annual Water Festival, and much more.
Crawdads By the Creek Fundraiser
August 12 | 6:30 to 9:00 pm | $25 per person or $250 per table of ten | Creekside at Wildcat Glades
Crawdads By the Creek is a fundraising event to help with the annual Shoal Creek Water Festival. It is $25 per person or $250 per table of ten. This will include crawdads, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn on the cob, and a dessert auction with desserts generously donated by the Wildcat Glades Friends Group volunteers.

Shoal Creek Water Festival

This year’s Water Festival will feature a variety of water-based activities all day, including a fishing derby at Walter Woods, a lazy river float, people’s choice for cardboard boats and shoebox boats, fishing magicians, the shoebox boat race, the cardboard boat race, duck race, and more! There will also be 20+ information booths, food trucks, and free kids’ activities as well.
Yoga in Nature for Adults
August 13 | 8:30 to 9:30 am | For ages 16+ | $10 to attend | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage
Led by Amanda, a registered yoga teacher, this class is designed to incorporate elements of nature, breathing, and yoga poses. Bring your yoga mat or a towel and a reusable water bottle. This is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy nature.

Nature Explorers – Tarantulas

Tarantulas can be hidden all around us in nature. Join naturalist Jordyn in search for a tarantula home and learn about this misunderstood spider.
National Eat Outside Day – Seasonal Foraging
August 31 | 1:00 pm | Free program for adults | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage
Naturalist Jordyn will lead us as we forage for seasonal food in nature. We will also have a nice, light, outdoor lunch to celebrate National Eat Outside Day.
