(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Empire Market will hold its first ever Bees & Blossoms Spring Market on Saturday, May 14 during normal market hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Attendees can learn about native “bee hotels” and take one home to paint and put in their yard while supplies last. The Market will also be giving away tree seedlings from the Missouri Department of Conservation. Redbuds and Kentucky Coffee Trees will be among those offered. These will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be free to take, though small donations would be appreciated.
Wildflower seed bombs will be available at the YVC table, along with instructions to make your own, so you can help create more pollinators all over town! Kids can also take along a Pollinator Scavenger Hunt sheet to help them recognize ways to help the bees that exist all over the region.
Visitors can shop all three market halls with fresh produce, pastured meat, artisan goods, coffee from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters, wine and cocktails from Just a Taste, and ready-to-eat food all available. Tyr a fresh roll from Nan Made, grab a croissant from Farmhouse Bakery, and more!
Lindsey Gagnon, Market Director, says “Spring is such a fun time to be at the Market, as we have more fresh produce coming in every week and the community gardens are starting to bloom. Come spend the day with us and learn about ways to make the season even more special.”
There is no charge for entry into the event.
