(Joplin, MO) – Pierce Gloyer, a senior at College Heights Christian School (CHCS) in Joplin, Missouri, was recently named a recipient of a Missouri STEM Signing Day Scholarship. He will receive a $1,000 scholarship to go towards his college expenses and will participate in the 2020 STEM Signing Day and Scholarship Award Program.
Gloyer is one of 15 awardees from across the state of Missouri. He plans to study electrical and computer engineering at Missouri S&T this coming fall.
The STEM Signing Day program was established in 2019 by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry to raise awareness of STEM career paths and to celebrate graduating seniors and their commitments to studying in STEM fields at two- or four-year technical schools or colleges.
In light of the pandemic, this year’s signing will be a virtual event. It may be viewed live on June 26, 2020 at mochamber.com/signingday/.
Gloyer was also named the CHCS 2019-2020 Outstanding Math Student, a CHCS 2019-2020 Christian Character Award Nominee, and a member of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Tomorrow’s Leaders Today class.
