Joplin Health Department Offers Incentives for COVID-19 Vaccinations

(Joplin, MO) – The City of Joplin Health Department has received limited funding from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to offer a vaccine incentive program for those receiving their COVID-19 vaccinations beginning November 11, 2021.

This incentive program will be available to eligible individuals starting the COVID-19 vaccination series with their first dose at the Joplin Health Department beginning November 11, 2021. Currently, the Health Department has the Moderna vaccine in supply, making this offer eligible for adults ages 18 and older.

Individuals who have already started or finished their vaccination series are not eligible for this incentive program. Additionally, this incentive program only applies to those receiving their first and second dose. Third doses and booster doses are not included in this incentive program.

This incentive, initially available at vaccination clinics open to the public, will consist of $100 total in the form of two $50 VISA gift cards distributed at vaccine clinics held by the Joplin Health Department. The first $50 VISA gift card will be issued to an individual after they have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Joplin Health Department. The second $50 VISA gift card will be issued to the same individual after they have received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Joplin Health Department, while supplies last. Please note that gift card supplies are limited and there is no guarantee that individuals will receive a second gift card after their second dose.

Individuals will be required to sign a statement acknowledging receipt of each gift card, as well as an agreement that gift cards may not be used to purchase alcohol or tobacco products. The Joplin Health Department is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards.

To participate in this vaccine incentive program, individuals can come to a COVID-19 vaccine clinic held by the Joplin Health Department. At this time, no appointments are needed as these clinics are held on a walk-in basis.
