Join The Alliance of Southwest Missouri on Saturday, May 2 for An Afternoon at the Races, hosted at Downstream Casino Resort!
An Afternoon at the Races is an exciting, Kentucky Derby–inspired fundraising event that brings together the elegance of Churchill Downs with the thrill of simulated horse racing — all in support of a meaningful cause. Guests are invited to don their finest Derby attire (complete with bold hats, bow ties, and seersucker suits) for an unforgettable afternoon of Southern charm and spirited competition.
The highlight of the event is a series of pre-recorded simulated horse races projected on large screens throughout the venue. Each race features a field of uniquely named horses, and attendees will use their funny money to wager on their favorites. With every race, the room comes alive with cheers, friendly rivalries, and anticipation as guests watch the action unfold and see if their picks cross the finish line first.
Between races, guests will enjoy themed cocktails like mint juleps, Southern-inspired cuisine, raffles, silent auctions, shop at the Churchill Downs Hat Bar and take a chance on the Heads or Tails coin flip. To end the event, participants can watch the Kentucky Derby live.
Tickets are $75 each. Get your tickets and learn more here.
