(Joplin, MO) – Lafayette House is proud to announce that Ooh-La Lafayette 2026: Written in the Stars will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm at Downstream Casino Resort. Now in its sixteenth year, Ooh-La Lafayette is one of Southwest Missouri’s most beloved community fundraising events, bringing together hundreds of supporters to ensure survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and substance use disorder can continue accessing life-changing services at no cost to them or their families.
This year’s theme, Written in the Stars, reflects the heart of Lafayette House’s work: the belief that no matter what chapters came before, brighter ones are always ahead. Guests can look forward to surprise bags filled with gift cards and local treasures, a handbag silent auction, live music, a social mixer, buffet dinner, an inspiring program highlighting survivor stories, and a live auction featuring exclusive packages and experiences. Since its founding in 2010, Ooh-La Lafayette has raised more than one million dollars in direct support of Lafayette House programs. Every ticket purchased, bid placed, and gift made goes toward keeping shelter doors open, crisis lines staffed, and recovery services available around the clock.
“Written in the Stars is more than a theme; it is a promise,” said Chelsea Conley, Chief Development Officer at Lafayette House. “When our community shows up for this event, they are telling survivors that their next chapter matters and that they will not face it alone. We are so grateful to the sponsors, donors, and attendees who make this night possible year after year.”
Lafayette House also extends its deepest gratitude to the Ooh-La Lafayette Committee, whose countless volunteer hours and tireless dedication are the foundation this event is built on. From planning and coordination to the details that make the evening truly special, the Committee’s commitment to survivors is felt in every aspect of the night. Lafayette House is proud to recognize the generous sponsors whose commitments make Ooh-La Lafayette 2026 possible. This year’s top sponsors include Leggett and Platt, Mercy Hospital, The Glauber Family, EaglePicher, Debra and David Humphreys, and The Satterlee Family. Their investment ensures that every dollar raised at the event goes directly toward programming and services for clients and their families.
“The generosity of our sponsors reflects something powerful about this community,” said Susan Hickam, CEO of Lafayette House. “Leggett and Platt, Mercy Hospital, The Glauber Family, EaglePicher, Debra and David Humphreys, and The Satterlee Family have each made a real and meaningful commitment to the people we serve. We are honored to have them stand alongside us on April 10.”
