Joplin High School Names New Assistant Principal

(Joplin, MO)Joplin Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Trent Barratt as an assistant principal at Joplin High School, effective July 2026.

Barratt most recently served as principal at Neosho High School, a position he held since 2019. He previously served as principal at Anderson Elementary in the McDonald County R1 School District, and as a world history and physical education teacher at McDonald County High School.

During his time as principal at Neosho High School, he created a freshman mentorship program, created PLC and RTI structures, and served as part-time Athletic Director during the 2022–23 school year. He also has experience serving on district attendance, technology, safety, and leadership committees, as well as experience as a student discipline coordinator.

Barratt holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Missouri Southern State University; a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University; and an Education Specialist degree in Administration from William Woods University.
