Immediate CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation can double and even triple the chances of survival for a person having cardiac arrest. This lifesaving skill is the focus of classes taught by the Joplin Health Department (JHD).
The JHD offer three different CPR and basic lifesaving classes on a monthly rotation. The attached flyer has class descriptions, fees, dates and times. Preregistration and pre-payment are required to attend. Participants can complete these steps by going to the Joplin Parks registration website of their online catalog here. Classes are listed under the Adult Programs division of the registration site. All classes are taught in person with hands-on skill practice at the Joplin Health Department, 321 East 4th Street. Participants can also call the Joplin Health Department at 417.623.6122, ext. 1258 for more information. The JHD Facebook page also has events and posts for upcoming CPR classes.
