Gift the Gift of Life This Holiday Season at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Miracle of Giving Blood Drives on December 24 and 31

(Joplin, MO)Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the only supplier of blood, platelets and plasma to patients at over 40 area hospitals, is asking all eligible blood donors to donate ahead of the holidays during the annual Miracle of Giving Blood Drives. The blood drives will be held on two critical days, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, at all CBCO donor centers throughout the region.

Successful donors will receive a cozy fleece snowflake blanket, a matching campfire mug, and a $10 gas gift card.

During the holiday season, blood donations tend to decline. “Holiday activities tend to disrupt normal routines, and blood donation is often unintentionally pushed aside,” said Michelle Teter, Media Relations Representative at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. “Yet patients in our local hospitals continue to rely on lifesaving transfusions every single day. Making time to donate before the holidays is a meaningful way to share the spirit of the season and help bring a miracle to someone in need.”

The Miracle of Giving holiday blood drives will be held December 24 and 31 only at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Donor Centers in Joplin, Springfield, Bentonville, and Springdale. Donation hours for the Miracle of Giving drives are:

  • Joplin Donor Center (2318 E. 32nd Street) – 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Thomson Donor Center (220 W. Plainview Road in Springfield) – 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Bentonville Donor Center (1400 SE Walton Boulevard) – 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Springdale Donor Center (3503 S. Thompson Street) – 7:00 am to 1:00 pm

All CBCO Donor Centers will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. For more information or to schedule an appointment at a donor center or mobile blood drive near you, click here or call 417.227.5006.
