(Quapaw, OK) – Guests of all ages at Downstream Casino Resort will be treated to a sweet display this holiday season. The 12-foot-tall gingerbread house, featuring more than 3,000 pounds of deliciousness, will be revealed in the hotel lobby of Downstream Casino Resort on Friday, December 5 at 5:30 pm. Downstream Casino Resort’s Pastry Chef, Pamela Hammer, and her kitchen staff have teamed up to create this incredible display.
Assembly has begun with more than 7,000 individual pieces. Ingredients include 3,080 gumballs, 1,030 pounds of sugar, 700 pounds of flour, 170 pounds of butter, 125 pounds of gum drops, and 2,390 candy canes.
This classic gingerbread house will remain on display throughout the month of December.
“I’m beyond excited for the community to see what my incredible team has helped me accomplish. We have worked incredibly hard for the past two months, perfecting every detail of this gingerbread house,” said Hammer.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be served at the unveiling of the gingerbread house on December 5 at 5:30 pm in the hotel lobby of Downstream Casino Resort. All ages are welcome.
Everything Happening at Downstream Casino Resort in December
In addition to the gingerbread house being on display, Downstream Casino Resort will also be hosting a free New Year’s Eve Party in the Pavilion from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. You’ll be dazzled by the Roaring Twenties Gatsby theme and the returning fan-favorite, Dueling Painos. Concurrently, cash drawings will be held on the casino floor form 10:00 am to 11:30 pm.
