Watered Gardens Ministries Partners with Schuber Mitchell Homes, Gusano’s Pizzeria, New Heights Christian Academy, and College Heights Christian Church to Host a Feed the Funnel Party on November 20

(Joplin, MO)Watered Gardens Ministries is teaming up with The Pack Shack to host a Feed the Funnel Party, bringing together volunteers from across the community to pack thousands of meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity in the Joplin area.

The party will take place on Thursday, November 20 at New Heights Christian Academy/College Heights Christian Church (4311 E. Newman Road) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

The Feed the Funnel initiative, developed by The Pack Shack, unites people in fun, high-energy parties that make a direct local impact. Volunteers work together in an assembly-line style to pack nutritious, shelf-stable meals that are distributed through local food banks, pantries, and food assistance organizations.

“We’re so thankful for the opportunity to see a ‘civil society’ approach that lovingly helps neighbors in need of meals for their families,” said Travis Hurley, Director of Advancement for Watered Gardens Ministries. “Through the Feed the Funnel party, we’ll not only pack meals but also pack hope for families right here in Joplin. We hope people see that neighbors in Joplin won’t starve whether government aid is available or not, because local businesses, churches and nonprofits stand ready to serve.”

The party is open to volunteers from New Heights Christian School, College Heights Christian Church, Watered Gardens Ministries, Gusano’s Pizzeria, and Schuber-Mitchell Homes. An invitation is also being extended to city leadership and city council members.

Those interested in volunteering should confirm with an email to travis@wateredgardens.org.

Those interested in donating to Watered Gardens Ministries can do so here, choosing the Outreach Center option and leaving a note “Mission Market” to allocate any gift toward meals.

Since its founding, The Pack Shack has helped pack and distribute 60 million meals to support neighbors across the United States. Feed the Funnel parties are an impactful and memorable way for businesses, schools, and community groups to make a difference together.

“Feed the Funnel parties unite people in a powerful way,” said Bret Raymond, Co-founder and CEO of The Pack Shack. “When neighbors know each another, understand their struggles and challenges, have compassion, and take action, they build a resilient community.”
