Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks to Host Missouri’s Breast Cancer & Wellness Resource Summit on November 7

Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks invites the community to join them for Stronger Together: Missouri’s Breast Cancer & Wellness Resource Summit on Friday, November 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce (320 E. 4th Street).

This event is designed to break barriers and share cutting-edge resources on local breast care, insurance solutions, patient rights, and new breast cancer innovations. The goals of the event are to:

  • Improve access to breast screening and early detection in the community.
  • Help women know if they’re at high risk for breast cancer and what to do if they are.
  • Assist patients with navigating insurance hardships, disparities, and workarounds.
  • Aid women in understanding their patient rights.
  • Discover cold capping for hair preservation and ice therapy/neuropathy prevention resources.
  • Learn more about signatera (molecular) and genetic testing, what it is, and how it saves lives.
  • Help patients discover more resource connections and breast cancer support.

There will also be guest speakers and resources available, including:

  • Senator Jill Carter
  • Kourtney Kassler
  • Dr. Amanda Harrell
  • Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks
  • Gateway to Hope
