Kansas City University Named a top College to Work for by The Chronicle of Higher Education and GreatCollegesList.com

Kansas City University (KCU) is proving that a mission-driven culture and employee well-being go hand in hand, earning national workplace recognition as a Great College to Work For®. The results were recently announced on GreatCollegesList.com and in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The program surveyed 199 colleges and universities nationwide, with 76 institutions earning recognition for exemplary workplace practices and policies. This marks the fourth year KCU has received this honor, recognized among small universities with 500 to 2,999 students.

KCU received recognition in the Compensation and Benefits category, highlighting the importance of fair compensation and comprehensive benefits in helping employees feel valued and respected. This category is determined through survey responses capturing faculty, staff and administrator satisfaction with the benefits offered and compensation provided.

“Everything we do at KCU comes down to our mission of improving the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Marc B. Hahn, DO, president and CEO of KCU. “Working alongside faculty and staff who are devoted to mentoring and training the next generation of osteopathic physicians, dentists, scientists, psychologists and health professionals makes KCU not just a great place to work, but a community of purpose and excellence.”

The survey assessment included two parts: an institutional questionnaire collecting employment data and workplace policies, and a confidential survey of faculty, administrators and staff. Employee feedback played the central role in determining which institutions received recognition.

“At KCU, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Being recognized again as a Great College to Work For®, especially in Compensation & Benefits, shows that our faculty and staff feel valued and supported,” said Jamie Hirshey, vice president of Human Resources. “This honor reflects both the university’s investment in our people and the strong benefits that enhance their well-being. We are grateful for our employees’ engagement and the commitment that makes KCU such a great place to work and serve.”

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the nation’s largest and most respected workplace recognition programs. The survey was administered and analyzed by ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm.
