(Joplin, MO) — The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors is excited to announce significant leadership appointments aimed at strengthening the Chamber and advancing economic growth throughout the region.
Betsy Mense has accepted the position of CEO and President of the Chamber and the Chamber Foundation, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to guide the Chamber into a new era. Betsy’s proven leadership and passion for community development will be instrumental as the Chamber builds on its track record of service and innovation.
“Having served on the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, it’s a pleasure to serve the Joplin community in this new capacity,” says Betsy. “The Chamber has played a key role in my professional journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the organization and community that has given me so much.”
Additionally, Steve Urban has joined the Chamber as President – Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. Steve will spearhead key economic initiatives and collaborate closely with the City of Joplin, Joplin Industrial Development Authority (JIDA), and MOKAN Partnership. This new role reflects the Chamber’s commitment to focused, dedicated leadership in economic development. The Board believes that Steve’s expertise will help foster sustainable growth and prosperity for Joplin and the surrounding area.
