Passport Services Expand at Joplin Public Library

Since Joplin Public Library began offering passport services in 2018, they have been focused on offering personalized service to the community. Recently, efforts have been made to expand these services and make it easier than ever to get a passport and discover the places you always read about. Starting now, members of the community have the option for passport photos at the Library, additional appointment times, walk-in availability on select days, and can receive step-by-step assistance with passport applications from trained Library staff. 

By applying for a passport at the Library, patrons receive tailored guidance from community-focused staff who are eager to help throughout the process. For example, the Joplin Public Library ensures that patrons know exactly which documents to bring to their appointment via a courtesy call the day before the scheduled appointment.

“The Library has been a passport acceptance facility since 2018, but I am happy that we have been able to expand services for our community,” said Jeana Gockley, Library Director.  “Offering photos, additional appointment times and walk-in services should fill a gap and make it easier for our users to access services.”
