The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) is inviting residents to participate in a Virtual Open House to review and comment on proposed updates to the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). This online engagement opportunity is designed for community members who are unable to attend the in-person event scheduled from 4:00 to 7:30 pm on September 4 at the Joplin Public Library.
The Virtual Open House will be live from September 3 through September 18, 2025, and can be accessed here.
Participants will be able to:
- Explore maps and visuals
- Review key findings and proposed improvements
- Submit comments and feedback directly on materials
The MTP update focuses on long-term strategies to improve road safety, traffic efficiency, and regional connectivity. Public input is essential to ensure the plan reflects the needs and priorities of the Joplin area.
“This virtual format makes it easy for anyone to get involved, no matter their schedule or location,” said Robert Lolley Transportation Planner for the City of Joplin. “We want to hear from as many voices as possible to help shape a safer and more effective transportation system for our region.”
