City of Joplin Reopens 15th Street and Range Line Intersection; Area Still a Work Zone as Project Continues

The intersection of East 15th Street and Range Line Road is now open. The City of Joplin would like to remind drivers to use caution when traveling on the new section of 15th Street into the shopping area. Work continues to finish the installation of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.

“It was important to get this intersection reopened quickly because of the amount of traffic in this area,” said Dan Johnson, Director of Public Works. “As the work continues, drivers need to watch for temporary lane closures or shifts as crews complete work on sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and striping.”

The road going north into the Hobby Lobby shopping area is still under construction. Please continue to enter this parking lot from 13th Street.

This project brings major upgrades to the corridor, including a new traffic signal at 15th and Range Line, dedicated right-turn lanes to and from Range Line Road, intersection enhancements, and defined business entrances along 15th Street, and new sidewalks for pedestrian access.

The City appreciates the community’s patience during this project and reminds drivers to stay alert for short-term traffic changes as work is finalized.
