(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA) and General Mills/Blue Buffalo will once again partner for the Dog Days of Summer during Third Thursday on August 21! Come enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with over 125 vendors, live music, and fun activities!
The evening’s event include:
- Visit event sponsors, General Mills/Blue Buffalo, on the 400 block. They will have free doggie ice cream, a beautifully decorated photo booth by Hip Hip Array, the Joplin Roadrunners, the Joplin Humane Society, and lots of giveaways and freebies! They’re also bringing back their foam cannons. Come have lots of sudsy fun, but dress accordingly!
- Live music all night from Paul Blakely, the Forget-Me-Nots, Analog Frogs, and Eric and Erica French.
- Visit the Schroeder Family Exploreum at 300 S. Main for pet-themed STEAM activities. This is a great, free activity for kids!
- The LEGO-themed Brick Pit pop-up store will be set up in front of downtown’s newest storefront, The Boutique Marketplace, at 613 Main Street.
- Mo-Kan Dragway will have a racing car simulator set up so visitors can experience what it’s like to speed around a track.
- Visit the 900 block for a continuation of the fun with a Block Party, starting with a ribbon cutting at the Moss-DeGraff Building at 4:30 pm. Tours of the building, live music, lawn games, a bounce house, and more will be on tap. Briley’s Ice Cream, Beaten Path Coffee Co., and Hungry Monkey will also stay open late for the festivities.
- Patio and on-street dining up and down Main Street, including at Club 609, The Main Event, and Vino Noir.
- Vintage car cruise on the 100 block
- Artisan market on the 500 block.
- More than 125 vendors, including more than 30 food and beverage options.
