(Joplin, MO) – Mercy Health Foundation Southwest Missouri/Kansas will host a check presentation at noon on Tuesday, July 22, at Mercy Cardiology Clinic to celebrate a generous $4,000 grant from Arvest Foundation. This gift will support the purchase of specialized cardiac recovery support pillows, which provide essential comfort and support for patients healing from open heart surgery.
The Arvest Foundation has a longstanding history of supporting Mercy. Since 2018, it has provided more than $41,000 to help fund critical hospital needs. This latest gift underscores Arvest’s continued commitment to enhancing the well-being of the communities they serve.
“We deeply value the enduring partnership we’ve built with our friends at Arvest,” said Kim Shriver, director of development for Mercy Health Foundation. “Their generosity and commitment to local health care make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families who count on us every day.”
“Recovery after open heart surgery can be physically and emotionally challenging,” said Dr. Junaid Haroon, cardiac and thoracic surgeon at Mercy Hospital Joplin. “These specially designed pillows offer essential comfort and support during the healing process, making our patients feel a sense of agency over their care during their most vulnerable times. We are truly thankful to the Arvest Foundation for helping us enhance the recovery experience for our patients.”
“The Arvest Foundation is committed to supporting local organizations that strive to improve the quality of life for the communities we serve,” said Rebecca Dunham, sales manager for Arvest Bank. “Access to quality health care is essential to the strength and resilience of our region. We are proud to partner with Mercy in their mission to deliver compassionate care and exceptional service.”
Members of the media are invited to cover this check presentation, where both Mercy and Arvest representatives will be available for interviews.
