(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA) will partner with ALLO Fiber and Missouri American Water for the Downtown Waterfest during Third Thursday on July 17! Come and enjoy an evening in downtown Joplin with over one-hundred and twenty-five vendors, live music, and plenty of water features to cool you off.
The evening’s events will include:
- Live music from Analog Frog, Speciosa, Eric and Erica French, Far From Driven, and Andrew Pommert.
- Visit Missouri American Water on the 400 block — they will have a water truck onsite so you can stay hydrated, plus games for kids, special rubber ducks, and an inflatable water spray arch to walk through. Puddles the Duck will also be in attendance!
- ALLO Fiber will be set up on the 500 block with activities ranging from a duck pond with green rubber ducks to pickup beds of ice, filled with free bottles of water (gotta stay hydrated), a fun coloring contest, and lots of giveaways!
- Many interactive water features for people and dogs to cool down in, including free splash pads and sprayers run by the Joplin Fire Department.
- Visit the Schroeder Family Exploreum on the 300 block for free, water-themed, hands-on activities for kids.
- Mo-Kan Dragway will have a racing car simulator set up so visitors can experience what it’s like to speed around a track.
- The United Way of Southwest Missouri & Southeast Kansas will be giving away children’s books as part of their Little Blue Bookshelf Program.
- Community Support Services of Missouri, Easter Seals, Connections of Jasper County, Easy Living, and The Independent Living Center will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the signing of Americans with Disability Act.
- Patio and on-street dining all over Main Street, including a Vino Noir (530 S. Main Street) and The Main Event (611 S. Main Street).
- An Artisan market on the 500 block.
- A vintage car cruise on the 100 block.
- More than 125 vendors, including over 30 food and beverage options.
