(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Schools‘ Board of Education member and past president Rylee Hartwell, has been elected as vice president of the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) for the 2025–2026 year.
He was elected during a meeting of the MSBA Delegate Assembly held in Branson on June 16 in conjunction with MSBA’s Summer Summit.
The Missouri School Boards’ Association is a not-for-profit organization that exists to help school boards ensure all students succeed. The MSBA Board of Directors consists of 24 member positions, including a president, vice president, and president elect. The organization is committed to empowering member districts through comprehensive training, policy support, legal assistance, and a wide range of essential services.
“I’m honored to serve in this statewide role,” Hartwell said. “MSBA is the leading voice for public education in Missouri, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that empowers school boards to serve their communities well. This opportunity allows me to advocate for the nearly 880,000 students in our state while bringing the values of our local community to the conversation. Missouri’s schools face both challenges and incredible opportunities, and I look forward to supporting districts across the state.”
