Joplin Parks and Recreation will again partner with Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) for Joplin’s Independence Day celebration this year!

The celebration kicks off at 5:30 pm on Friday, July 4, at Fred G. Hughes Stadium on MSSU’s campus. This family-friendly event will feature live music, food trucks, and fireworks. More announcements will be coming as details are finalized. Seating is available in the stadium and along the grass around the field. As the stadium is a NCAA regulation field, no one is allowed on the football turf.

Please note that items allowed inside the stadium include water, food, seat cushions, folding chairs, blankets, and strollers. Please do not bring personal fireworks, alcohol, grills, pets, or tobacco.

Plenty of parking will be available throughout the campus. To view the parking map, please click here.
