Using some of your free time to clean out the garage? Be sure to bring your old tires to the City of Joplin’s free Tire Drop-Off Event on Saturday, June 7 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Old Lone Elm Plant at 2214 N. Lone Elm Road.
The Lone Elm Plant is on the west side of Lone Elm, a quarter of a mile south of the intersection of Lone Elm Road and West Zora Street. In the past, this event has been held at the Recycling Center, but it has been moved to North Lone Elm Road to allow more space for this collection. Drivers are encouraged to enter from the south on Lone Elm Road.
Automotive passenger tires, with or without rims, will be accepted. Please remove water and mud from inside the tires. There is a limit of ten tires per vehicle, and multiple visits are not allowed. Semi, tractor, ATV, and racing tires will not be accepted. Tires cannot have rims larger than 20-inches. Please no commercial vehicles, haulers or generators of scrap tires.
This drop-off event is available to residents of Joplin and the counties of Jasper, Newton, McDonald, Barton, and Vernon. Joplin’s Recycling Center works closely with the Region M Solid Waste District and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for such collections.
