Watered Gardens Ministries is excited to share that their story is featured in a new Amazon Prime documentary titled True Charity Reclaimed.
The film, which was released on May 15, 2025, shares the story of Watered Gardens growth and their services, which sparked a national movement. From a sandwich shared with a homeless man to a nationwide shift to effective charity, James Whitford, founder of Watered Gardens, shares his story and demonstrates how when transformative ideas are properly applied, they can make a generational impact.
This combination of personal experience and philosophical framework led to the complete transformation of Watered Gardens’ approach and sparked The True Charity Network, a national coalition of churches and nonprofits that serve people in poverty.
Watered Gardens invites anyone who is interested in learning more about how effective charity can impact policies and practice to watch the film on Amazon Prime and to join them in celebrating 25 years of ministry.
