Joplin, Missouri – May 1, 2025 – Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 45 area healthcare facilities, is teaming up with the Springfield Cardinals for the twenty first annual Bleed Red blood drive.
The 2025 Bleed Red blood drive returns this May and June to CBCO Joplin and Springfield donor centers and mobile blood drives in Missouri and Kansas. Successful donors will receive a custom three-quarter sleeve Springfield Cardinals baseball T-shirt and TWO FREE TICKETS to an upcoming Springfield Cardinals game, while supplies last.
Bleed Red is one of CBCO’s largest blood drives and it occurs during the summer to help ensure a strong summer blood supply for local patients. “We love how baseball and blood donation bring people together. It is the perfect combo of summer fun and community spirit,” said Michelle Teter, CBCO Media Relations Representative. “Donating blood is a simple act that makes a huge impact, and with free game tickets and a limited-edition T-shirt, it’s a win for everyone, especially local patients.”
“We are honored to continue our partnership with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks to help save lives in southwest Missouri. The Bleed Red Blood Drive is a powerful way for the community to come together and make a lasting impact for local patients in need,” said Springfield Cardinals General Manager, Dan Reiter.
The 21st annual Bleed Red Blood Drive is sponsored by the Springfield Cardinals, AMI radio stations KKOW Country 96.9, Magic Mix 92.9, Rewind 104.3 and Rock 107.1, Nexstar Media TV stations KOLR 10, KOZL, FOX 49 and Ozarks First, along with Summit Media radio stations Power 96.5, Country 94.7 KTTS, KSGF 104.1 and Classic Rock 106.7.
