City of Joplin Sets Public Meeting on April 22 to Discuss Design of Streetscaping Along Main Street

The City of Joplin will host an Open House Public Meeting from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 22, on the fifth floor of Joplin City Hall, 602 S. Main Street, to discuss the streetscape project on Main Street. This project will address the area from 8th Street to 15th Street and will include new street surfaces, sidewalks, and lighting improvements.

At this preliminary phase of the project, City staff would value input from area property owners and interested citizens for consideration in the design and other aspects of the project.

This project is funded through a $3 million grant from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with a City match of $3 million. The project contractor, D & E Plumbing, will also have representatives at the meeting.
