
The Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri’s (WIB) is seeking participants, donations, and community volunteers for their YouthBuild program. They are looking for the following groups:
- Businesses or organizations who would be willing to make donations for lunches for the program
- Community members who are willing to volunteer for leadership training and mentorship for one afternoon.
- Individuals between ages 16 and 24 who have not yet earned their GED or high school program.
For potential YouthBuild participants, this is a 32-week program designed to help individuals:
- Earn their GED
- Obtain a PACT Industry-Recognized Credential
- Learn essential life skills like car maintenance, banking, and taxes
- Gain leadership training and mentoring from local community leaders
- Work on a real-world project by helping to build a tiny house for Vita Nova Village.
Whether you’re looking to finish your high school diploma or GED, learn job skills, or start a career, this program is for you. Participants will get hands-on training in the construction industry, paid work experience, and a chance to make a real impact in the community, as well as mentors who will guide them along the way.
