Do you have a teenager or young adults who is interested in becoming a better babysitter? Encourage them to join Freeman Health System’s Screen Team’s Safe Sitter classes this June!
Safe Sitter classes are administered by Freeman Health System and the training only takes one day to complete. The cost to attend is $40 and there are multiple dates scheduled for potential classes:
- Wednesday, June 11 @ 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Thursday, June 12 @ 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Wednesday, June 25 @ 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Thursday, June 26 @ 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Each class covers the following skill sets:
- Safety Skills – Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as a power failure or weather emergency.
- First Aid & Rescue Skills – Students learn new first-aid and rescue skills. Choking rescue and CPR are often students’ favorite parts of the class. They also learn a system to help them assess and respond appropriately to injuries and illnesses.
- Life & Business Skills – Students learn the ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers. These lessons set students up for success now and in the future as they practice these skill sets through various role plays.
- Child Care Skills – Students learn tips to prevent and manage problem behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. They also learn the ages and stages of child development as well as practice diapering.
Pre-registration is required to attend. Please call 417.347.4448 to register.
