(Joplin, MO) – The Creative Learning Alliance (CLA) is excited to announce the successful fulfillment of an incredible $500,000 anonymous matching commitment that was launched in December of 2024. Thanks to the generosity of two remarkable donors, each contributing $250,000, the full matching challenge was met in just a matter of weeks.
The matching campaign, which kicked off on December 4, invited supporters to double the impact of their contributions through an anonymous donor’s commitment to match every donation dollar-for-dollar. These two substantial gifts, one from Wes and Jan Houser and the other from Mary Louise Glauber in memory of her husband Michael A. Glauber, significantly advanced Creative Learning Alliance’s capital campaign goal of $6,500,000.
“We are beyond grateful to both Mr. and Mrs. Houser and Mrs. Glauber and her daughter Christine Glauber, who stepped forward to fulfill this match and to make this campaign a resounding success,” said Neely Myers, Executive Director. “This $500,000 match will enable us to make a profound impact on preparing our building at 300 S. Main to open to the public, and we cannot thank our supporters enough for their role in this achievement.”
“We are thrilled that this match was met so quickly,” said Audie Dennis, Creative Learning Alliance Board President. “The collective support of our donors has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are honored that they chose to be a critical part of this campaign a success.”
“We are excited for what’s to come,” added Myers. “Thanks to the support of these generous individuals, we are positioned to make an even greater impact in the months ahead.”
The Creative Learning Alliance is the supporting organization of the Schroeder Family Exploreum, a hands-on STEAM-based attraction that exercised curiosity, promotes exploration, and develops imagination for people of all ages through interactivity.
