(Joplin, MO) – Hey ladies — how about some guilt-free fun? That’s the key component of the 4th Annual Galentine’s Day Sip & Shop, which allows women to shower themselves with some much needed “me” time.
Presented by Freeman Health System Auxiliary and Crossland Construction, the three-hour, come-and-go event includes a wide selection of offerings from Joplin-area boutiques and unparalleled wining and dining options from local restaurant and wineries.
But there’s so much more to this night than overindulging with the finer things in life. The Sip & Shop event raises money for a truly wonderful cause – the Freeman Wig & Scarf Program. As the name implies, the program provides wigs to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute. For so many, this is a tremendous boost that allows them to continue their normal lives while dealing with the effects of their cancer treatment.
The participating boutiques and eateries are donating 15 percent of their proceeds toward the program: Bella Dona Salon, Bend the Trend, Bryx + Bry, Dr. Fly Salon Spa, Eagles’ Landing, Evie Bee Creations, Famos Italian Smokehouse, Glitz + Glow, Gusano’s Pizza, Keltoi Winery, La Boussole Medical Spa and Wellness Center, Lenkabl Permanent Jewelry, Mama Bear Boutique, Maria’s Mexican Grill & Cantina, Paint Chips & Glitter Boutique, Pha’s Bakery, SeneGence, Society Marketplace, and White Willow Permanent Jewelry.
Aside from the delicious food and libations, there will also be music, a love letter wall, a 360-degree photo booth and a special item — a designer handbag donated by Freeman President and Chief Executive Officer Paula Baker — that will be raffled off during the event.
Tickets are $25 when purchased online, and $30 at the door. The admission price includes access to food, shopping, wine tasting, and a special take-home item.
