Joplin Area Transportation Planners Seek More Public Participation

The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) needs your opinion! What are your preferred methods for getting information and providing comments? What barriers, if any, prevent you from becoming more involved with JATSO planning activities? Please take a few minutes to complete the Public Participation Survey to help us communicate more effectively with you.

Take the survey here. It is open for comments from December 2 to December 31, 2024.

Survey questions focus on current planning perceptions, specific barriers, and preferred methods for receiving information and providing feedback. We want to create opportunities for meaningful public involvement. Your responses will help JATSO make informed decisions as we plan those opportunities to participate.

JATSO has established three goals to involve traditionally underserved populations and foster their future participation in the transportation planning process. Your survey responses will help JATSO achieve the following goals:

  1. Identify and locate underserved populations.
  2. Foster participation by underserved populations.
  3. Create opportunities for meaningful public involvement.

About JATSO:

JATSO is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Joplin region. Federal legislation requires an MPO for any urbanized area with a population of over 50,000. MPOs ensure that existing and future transportation projects and program expenditures are based on a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive planning process.
