The Alliance of Southwest Missouri and Carthage Caring Community Coalition to Host Sudstock 2024

(Joplin, MO)The Alliance of Southwest Missouri is encouraging families to pre-register for its much-anticipated summer substance misuse prevention education event, which will take place from noon to 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, in Carthage Municipal Park. The event is free and will feature plenty of water activities for children of all ages.

Sudstock 2024 will take on a science theme and feature a puppet show by local children’s author “Izzy B.” Of course, The Alliance’s foam cannons will be present, surrounded by inflatables for kids to enjoy.

“We love to hear the giggles of joy as kiddos sport bubble beards and run with delight through water and foam. We’re proud to offer substance prevention education in the community; the best part is offering an event where friends and families can have good, clean fun together,” says Jen Black, Executive Director of The Alliance.

The event is coordinated through The Alliance and its volunteer-based youth substance misuse prevention group, The Carthage Caring Community Coalition. The event also heavily relies on the City of Carthage through various departments like police, fire, and parks and recreation. This event would not be possible without their support and the support of sponsors. Through this collaboration, we look forward to coming “together again for good, clean fun!”

Free hot dogs, popsicles, and water are available while supplies last. Sudstock t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event.

To pre-register and save time at check-in, families can sign up through Eventbrite.
