Crowder College Student Athletics Earns National Academic Recognition

(Neosho, MO) – The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced the 2023–24 Academic team and individual awards. Crowder College has eight teams making the list and seventy-one student-athletes earning this high honor.

To earn a spot on the Academic Team awards the team grade point average must be above 3.0. The teams earning academic awards include:

  • Softball – 3.52 GPA
  • Baseball – 3.51 GPA
  • Men’s Golf – 3.22 GPA
  • Men’s Cross Country – 3.21 GPA
  • Women’s Golf – 3.17 GPA
  • Men’s Track – 3.17 GPA
  • Women’s Soccer – 3.10 GPA
  • Women’s Basketball – 3.07 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic individual awards were earned by seventy-one student-athletes. This sets a new record for academic honors for the Roughriders.

“We are proud of the work by our student-athletes as well as our coaches, both on and off the field,” stated Brandi Arthur, Athletic Director.

About Crowder College: 

Crowder College was established in April 1963, as the voters of Newton and McDonald counties passed the issue to create a community college (formerly junior college) on the land formerly known as Camp Crowder. Today, the college provides services to a nine-county service region in southwest Missouri with locations in Neosho, Cassville, Joplin, McDonald County, Nevada and Webb City. The student population exists from within the four-state region, and around the globe.
