Celebrate Christmas in July at Community Blood Center of the Ozarks on July 15 and 16

(Joplin, MO) – Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the exclusive provider of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 45 area healthcare facilities, is inviting donors to get cozy during their Christmas in July blood drive. The special two-day event will take place on Monday, July 15, and Tuesday, July 16 at all four CBCO donor centers in Joplin, Springfield, Bentonville, and Springdale.

Blood donors who participate on July 15 and 16 will receive:

• An entry for a chance to win four, two-day passes to Silver Dollar City
• A CBCO hoodie, pullover, or long-sleeve T-shirt
• A CBCO Chillin’ in the Ozarks beach towel

Donation hours for the Christmas in July event are as follows:

• Joplin (Joplin Donor Center at 101 N. Range Line Road) – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Springfield (Thomson Donor Center at 220 W. Plainview Road) – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Bentonville (Bentonville Donor Center at 1400 SE. Walton Boulevard) – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Springdale (Springdale Donor Center at 3503 S. Thompson Street) – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

“We decided to have some fun with a new summer event this year,” said Kenda Burnham, Senior Director Donor Recruitment for CBCO. “Many like to celebrate the season of giving all year long and we appreciate that spirit since we are so dependent on the generosity of those in our community.” Burnham went on to say, “People have really loved our long-sleeved incentive items, so we are bringing some of them back for this special two-day event. It will be getting cooler before we know it, so we are encouraging everyone to stop by, save lives and get an early start at making Santa’s nice list.”

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is currently low on O Positive, O Negative and A Negative blood types and is urging those who have never given blood before, as well as those who have not given recently, to schedule a donation to help boost the supply level.
