(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance will hold their next quarterly Downtown Now event on Wednesday, June 26 at 5:00 pm.
Downtown Now is for downtown business owners, residents, or just lovers of downtown to connect and to learn more about what’s happening in the area. This quarter’s event will be held at The Main Event, which is located at 611 Main Street in Joplin.
In June, guests can expect to learn all about “the signs of a great downtown,” from:
- Tom Walters, from the City of Joplin, as he presents on the recently updated sign standards for downtown, including new guidelines for neon signage;
- And then from special guest speakers Dave and Ben, who are coming in from Fossil Forge in Lee’s Summit. Their visual presentation will include the importance of good signage in our towns, how to encourage better signage, and, most importantly, why signage matters.
“We will illustrate the way our towns and cities looked before and after decisions were made to limit and outlaw certain types of signage. We will also give tips on how to make changes to our sign ordinances. And finally, how to make better signage, depending on budget and location. It is a positive program with steps for improvements,” says Ben Wine of Fossil Forge.
Enjoy light snacks and beverages as you talk to other downtown business operates, residents, and downtown supporters.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at The Main Event, 611 Main Street, in downtown Joplin. This is a free event and is open to the public with no RSVP required.
