(Joplin, MO) – Members of Freeman Auxiliary — the fundraising and project-driven arm of Freeman Health System — will present a $10,000 check to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States officials on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10:00 am.
“Freeman Auxiliary has been in partnership with the Ronald McDonald House for so many years,” said Eliana Lewis, Freeman Auxiliary President, “and we are proud of having the opportunity to help many families with our yearly contribution.”
Freeman Auxiliary has forever been linked to Ronald McDonald House since 1995, when Auxiliary President Dorothy Storm made a pledge to bring the charity — serving as a beautiful “home away from home” for Freeman pediatric patients and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments — to southwest Missouri. The Ronald McDonald House opened in 1998 on land donated by Freeman Health System.
“We see daily the impact the Ronald McDonald House has on families with a sick child in our hospital and we witness the gratitude and relief these families feel for having the resources provided to them by Ronald McDonald House during this difficult time,” said Kay Glendenning, Freeman Auxiliary President-elect. “I feel honored and proud that Freeman Auxiliary has been able to provide the continued support for their mission.”
Each year, members of the Freeman Auxiliary raise funds from Freeman Gift Gallery, located inside Freeman Hospital West and Freeman Neosho Hospital, as well as various sales and events. The donated funds help advance the mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout the Joplin region.
“The essential support of our local hospital partners enables us to continue fulfilling our mission, serving families navigating the stress and uncertainty of having a seriously ill child,” said Lori Jones, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States. “We are grateful for the continued dedication and loyal generosity of members of the Freeman Auxiliary.”
