(Joplin, MO) – Developmental Disability Resource Board of Jasper County, a local governmental entity providing service and support to persons with developmental disabilities in Jasper County, is pleased to announce that Terri Falis-Cochran has been promoted to Executive Director.
“Terri has been with the agency for 12 years, most recently serving as the Finance Director. She is someone who is dependable, has high standards for work ethics, and is someone who embraces and champions improvement. She is a great leader for the organization and brings extensive knowledge and experience to her new role. Through these great qualities, we are excited about Terri’s vision and leadership for the organization,” said A.J. Whistler, President of the Developmental Disability Resource Board of Jasper County.
Falis-Cochran received her undergraduate degrees and an MBA, with an emphasis in Accounting and Economics, through Pittsburg State University. Prior to her employment with DDRBJC, she was Vice President of Operations at Lee & Wyrsch Marketing Group in Joplin and also held positions with KOAM-TV and KRPS-FM. Her new role as Executive Director began January 1, 2024. She fills the vacancy left by Alecia Archer, DDRBJC’s first Executive Director, who retired in December 2023 after 23 years.
About Developmental Disability Resource Board of Jasper County:
Developmental Disability Resource Board of Jasper County was formed in 1978 through Senate Bill 40 that enabled a portion of the personal property tax collected in the county to be used to assist persons with developmental disabilities. The Board established a targeted case management program in 1998, now known as Connections Abilities Resources, and hired its first Executive Director in July of 2000. DDRBJC currently serves approximately 1,160 persons with developmental disabilities in Jasper County and also operates an outreach program that assists those in the I/DD community without Medicaid.
