(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for the second annual Downtown Lofts Tour, a ticketed fundraiser to be held on June 1, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
This tour will give participants a glimpse of what it’s like to live downtown, by showcasing historic properties available to rent or buy in the downtown area.
This open house-style tour will take you into some of downtown’s most fascinating properties — some units will be fully furnished and occupied, others will still be in process of renovation. Expect to even see a few properties where restoration has not yet begun — true diamonds in the rough that few get a chance to see.
The final lineup of buildings will be unveiled as the tour draws closer, but participants will be able to visit the Christman Lofts, the Muir Building, the Willington Lofts, the Frisco Station Lofts, the Hollcroft Stults Building, and the Pennington Lofts, among others.
Tickets are $25 per person and will grant entry to all properties on the tour, as well as a commemorative guidebook. Those interested in joining the tour can purchase tickets here.
Separate tickets are also available for Tip Top Toast: A VIP Reception Under the Stars, to be held on the roof of the historic Columbian Building (418 S. Main Street) from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Live music, signature cocktails, and catered small plates will be provided, as well as stunning views of downtown Joplin. Tickets are $75 each and limited in quantity (a Lofts Tour ticket is included in purchase price).
This is a rain or shine event — no refunds given, though there is a backup location for the Rooftop Reception in case of poor weather.
All proceeds will benefit Downtown Joplin Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of our historic downtown district.
Ivy Hagedorn, Programming & Marketing Director of Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “Downtown Joplin is undergoing a huge change in our housing opportunities. So many of our grand old buildings have in the process of being restored to their original glory, but also adapted as apartments, lofts, and condos for residential dwelling. This Downtown Lofts Tour is a rare opportunity for the community to see these spaces in all stages of development. During the second year of our lofts tour, you’ll even be able to see the progress made on some of the stops on last year’s tour.”
