This month, Joplin Little Theatre (JLT) has information about their upcoming show in March as well as a call for auditions for their production of Promises, Promises, which will be performed in May. Read below to find out more!
JLT Presents All Quiet on the Western Front
Written by Robert Waterhouse and based on the novel by Erich Maria Ramarque, All Quiet on the Western Front takes place in Germany in 1914 and focuses on Paul Bäumer and his classmates who discover the reality of World War I after enlisting in the army.
The cast is as follows:
- Paul Bäumer – played by Keyven Dunn
- Friedrich Müller – played by Sam Hydar
- Stanislaus “Kat” Katczinsky – played by J.D. Dunn
- Kropp – played by Matthew Bragg
- Behm – played by Jasper Becker-Crawford
The performance will be held from Wednesday, March 20 to Sunday, March 24 at 7:30 pm nightly with a 2:30 matinee on the 24. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for senior citizens and students. Purchase your tickets by calling the box office at 417.623.3638 or by clicking here.

Upcoming Auditions for Promises, Promises
JLT will host auditions for their upcoming musical performance of Promises, Promises on March 11 and 12 at 6:30 pm.
This hit musical is based on the book by Neil Simon and the screenplay The Apartment by Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond and features music by Burt Bacharach with lyrics by Hal David.
A scathing and hilarious satire of the corporate world, Promises, Promises is the exuberant musical adaptation of Billy Wilder’s Oscar-winning film “The Apartment.” Set in New York City in the mid-60s, the story focuses on an ambitious accountant named Chuck Baxter, who works for a New York insurance company and climbs the corporate ladder by allowing the firm’s executives to use his midtown apartment for love affairs. Trouble occurs when Chuck discovers that the object of his own love, Fran Kubelik, is having rendezvous at his place with Chuck’s manager, J.D. Sheldrake. The performance will run from May 15 to 19 at 7:30 pm with a 2:30 pm matinee on May 19.
JLT is looking for the following for their cast:
- Seven men between the ages of 20 and 60.
- Six women between the ages of 20 and 45.
- The cast is expandable ensemble cast of both men and women between the ages of 18 and 60.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, a vocal portion of “I Say a Little Prayer for You,” and a moderate dance portion. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes!
